About Anne
A passion for creativity has always motivated Anne. Even in her younger years, as a boarder at school, in the evenings and weekends she could always be found in the art studio practicing and studying drawing, painting and sculpture. Later she trained with well known watercolour artist Margaret Roseman in Toronto.
Anne worked as an executive in publishing, a creative industry and then moved to the Blue Mountains and Collingwood, Ontario, Canada. For those years Anne continued practicing and studying art wherever she could.
In the Blue Mountains area, Anne moved into oils and trained with Michelle Fleming, founder of the Bay School of Art, exploring impressionism, abstraction and realism which is seen in her expression of the flowers and landscapes she loves to paint. Anne has a studio in her home in Collingwood, Ontario where she continues with her passion for painting under the nom de plume "Miami".
Painting brings Anne happiness and joy and she believes art is the most succinct expression of who she is. Her love of rich colour expresses her feelings on canvas and her style is passionate and bold just like her muse and inspiration, Georgian Bay and the Blue Mountains, Ontario. Her paintings have been shown in a number of art shows and galleries and hang in homes in Collingwood and the Blue Mountains area and throughout Ontario and into the United States. Anne's paintings are available locally or through her website.
